MEET THE PRACTITIONER

Jenni Heinrich

My Journey to Sophrology

I have been a musician and music teacher for most of my life.

In each decade of my adulthood, I have had a major shift in my personal growth.

In my 20s, this was due to yoga which I continue to practise.

In my 30s, The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle changed the way I saw my mind. It introduced me to the concept of presence and gave me the realisation that I am not my mind, but I can be its observer.

In my 40s I sat a 10-day silent Vipassana meditation course. The practice involves stilling the mind, observing sensations in the body without reaction, leading to an understanding through physical experience, that all things rise and eventually pass away.

In my 50s I began looking for a way to help the children I taught to regulate their minds and emotions. In a serendipitous meeting in France, I was told about Sophrology and ended up taking a 20-month Sophro-ki course with the Swiss Sophrology Centre Online, starting my own business a short time after.

I found the practice and study to be powerful and transformative - both had a positive impact on every aspect of my life and I have been running courses ever since.

The following year, I qualified as a coach for the Sophrology-based beChill program for young adults and recently completed the Sophrology Masters course.

I am a member of the International Sophrology Federation and am very excited to be helping introduce this extraordinary practice to Australia.

“Jenni always provided a safe, respectful space”.
